Ittner Family Travels

We are a family of travelers.  Either individually, or as a family, we like to go places and see things.  This page is devoted to those travels that we make as a family.  Listed below are the major trips we have taken and are planning.

Schlitterbahn WaterPark Resort June 2006

For Spenser's birthday we are going back to the waterpark near San Antonio that he and his mom visited last year.  This year we are all going.  Heading over there after a race in Huntsville for Dad.

Las Vegas May 2006

Carin is going to a conference in Vegas!  Only a few days, but she will check it out for a potential trip for the two of us at a later date.

Hilton Head (Savannah, Charleston) April 2006

We changed the family trip for 2006 to Hilton Head and surrounding area.  We decided to save some money and stay a little closer to home.  This year it is during Spenser's spring break.  We didn't get to everything we had planned, but we hit several museums, the beach, bead shops, and our favorite - Souvenir shops.  We are thinking of going back next year for our spring trip.

San Franciso, California - April 2006 (cancelled)

Washington State March 2006

Sean had to go to Redmond for work for two weeks in March.  We had the frequent flyer miles so it was decided to fly Carin out for the weekend in the middle. Basically spent the days driving around Washington.  Drove as high up Mount Ranier as we could and then went to North Cascades park and drove until the road ended.  Of course, we hit as many bead shops as we could find as well.

Alabama - November 2005

For the Thanksgiving trip this year, Sean, Eloise, Ron and Spenser traveled to the neighboring state of Alabama.  On the agenda was the Space and Rocket center in Huntsville, a couple of railroad museums, car museums, and whatever else we could find.  Also, of course, there is the tradition of shopping on Thanksgiving day.  This year it was Big Lots and Books A Million.

San Diego, California - February 2005

For the Family trip, Sean, Carin and Spenser went to San Diego during February during a School break.  Lots of rain during our trip, but we made the most of it.  We were supposed to have breakfast with Shamu, and we did try, but it was pouring down rain and windy and there was only outside (somewhat sheltered) places to sit.  We had a great time at Legoland, and things were interesting at the NHRA and Maritime museums.  The John Force thing was kinda a bust... just souvenirs, not really a museum or anything.  Balboa park was cool, lots of museums and things all grouped together.

Pigeon Forge, TN - November 2004

For this year's trip, Ron, Eloise, Sean and Spenser went to Pigeon Forge, TN for the second time.  This time, besides Dollywood we went to some museums and the Aquarium in Gatlinburg as well.
